Sydney is a fourth year medical student and bookworm from Canada. She has spent the past two years at St. George’s University on the island of Grenada, and has since returned to perform her clinical rotations at hospitals in the United States. She hopes to pursue a career in primary care and sports medicine while maintaining her love of fitness and athletics. Her time on the island and appreciation of its people led her to seek out a way to positively impact the community there. She worked as a HUGS Ambassador to provide the students in Grenada with access to much needed supplies, and with her help Give More HUGS will continue to make social change on the island. She is now moving into a leadership role with Give More HUGS as an Ambassador Coordinator, a responsibility she is excited to be fulfilling. Sydney has valued the importance of education her whole life, something that has been exemplified throughout her childhood, within her undergraduate experiences at Manhattanville College, and now within her medical career. She understands the opportunities that can come from a positive classroom environment, and she is motivated to help every child have access to those experiences. Give More HUGS provides an excellent outlet for this developing passion of hers, and she can’t wait to see what the future has in store!
